Thank you!

Well my lovely choir families, this past week was the last week of choir for the year. Definitely bittersweet, but I’m already looking forward to next year!

I just wanted to send along a note of thanks to everyone who helped contribute to making this year so fabulous.

First off, thank you choristers. You are the reason we have all come together to make this tremendous community, and you are the ones who work so hard to put on such fabulous shows. It has been amazing to see how you’ve learned and grown over the course of the year, both as musicians and individuals. We can’t wait to see what you can do next year!

Thank you parents, for getting your choristers to rehearsal every week, and for showing up and cheering loudly during the concerts. Your dedication to the choir not only illustrates who you are as parents, but as community members, and I’m so glad that our neighbourhood has such great people living here.

Thank you to our volunteers who distributed flyers and programs, ran craft stations, managed pot-lucks, and made sure that the kids connect with the right parents at the end of the day. We’re a small shop here, and we honestly couldn’t do it without you. Special thanks to Karen Cardinal, who donated and managed snack for the year, giving the kids that extra boost of energy and brain power to get through their lessons.

Thank you board members – it’s your dedication and insight that keeps this ship going in the right direction. You are a fabulous group of leaders who have helped the choir grow and thrive, and I’m so excited to see where you take us in the future. Particular thanks to Mary, for heading up the team, and to Jim for letting us use the basement at the Baptist church every week so that we can make this magic happen!

And of course, thank you Kim, Jenn, and Tanya! As a parent of kids in the choir, it is so amazing to me that my kids are being taught by professional musicians. It is such a blessing to have such talented, dedicated, patient, and driven musical leaders, and I am so grateful for all of the work that you have done to teach not only my own children, but all of the choristers, not only what it means to be a musician, but a teammate. Thank you so much for all of your hard work!

Thank you everyone for making this year so remarkable. Have a wonderful summer, and I’ll see you all in September!
